Alchemy of the World

This is a drawing that begins a series of "illuminations" for Arthur Rimbaud's famous poem, which brings about synesthesia in his provocative prose. I love Rimbaud, and was an early follower of his footsteps in my artistic journey of the "derangement of the senses"—not drugs, mind you, but the idea of semiotics and ancient Buddhism—that everything exists of what you see, but not in how you view it—and the language that mystifies in its ideological temptation to lure you away from nature into man's (and patriarchies) POV that acts in its own interests. I hope my figurative work breaks into the abstraction of my subconscious, a real truth that otherwise is only revealed through dreams.
